I am carrying out a PhD in the area of citizen science: specifically, assessing and classifying citizen science projects as online communities and identifying the impact that online community features such as forums and associated behaviours in such features impacts project success. In addition, I am part of an EU research project on light pollution (the STARS4ALL project) which aims to engage citizen volunteers through citizen science games and initiatives, to raise awareness of and to combat light pollution.

Brief description of project:
The STARS4ALL project is an EU research project which aims to raise awareness of and to combat light pollution. In order to do this, we are creating and monitoring a number of citizen initiatives, including citizen science projects and games, as well as other crowdsourced collaborative activities, to engage with and educate citizens across Europe on the issue of light pollution.
