How are you performing research on Citizen Science, taking part in Citizen Science activities and/or supporting Citizen Science?:
GLOBE is a citizen science program that is aimed at students since its founding in 1995. More than 116 countries participate in the program worldwide with the community of 25,000 GLOBE trained teachers. In 2015 a data entry app was released for existing GLOBE schools. In 2016, a new citizen science app will be released that allows the general public to enter data. The association GLOBE Schweiz is funded by Federal Office of Environment. The GLOBE offer is communicated over www.globe-swiss.ch (and www.globe.gov). GLOBE Switzerland represents at the moment the Consortium Europe/Eurasia, as GLOBE Europe is not a legal entity. Currently, students participate in investigations and data collection about atmosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere, and soil/pedosphere. For that GLOBE provides grade level-appropriate, interdisciplinary activities and scientific guidance for teachers and students to ensure high quality of data. The data are collected through life, email or app data entry. The database currently contains more than 140 million measurements.
