LOCATION

The 4th ECSA Conference 2022 takes place in the heart of Berlin. Located centrally in Berlin Mitte, right next to the Charité Berlin and only ten minutes walking distance from the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin. The Langenbeck-Virchow-Haus was built in the beginning of the 20th century and mainly used as a meeting place for various medical societies. Since the reopening in 2005 it is again used as a medical centre for specialist medical societies as well as an event location and impresses with its great location and architectural details. The whole Langenbeck-Virchow-Haus is wheelchair accessible.

HOW TO GET THERE

Arriving by airplane

From BER airport, Terminal 1-2, you need about 30 minutes with the Airport Express (FEX) or the regional train RE7 / RB14 to the main station. From Terminal 5, please take the S9 S-Bahn. From the main station (S+U Hauptbahnhof) take the exit to Europa-Platz and continue with 147 Bus in direction U Märkisches Museum to the stop Campus Mitte. Alternatively, take the 245 Bus in direction Mitte, Robert-Koch-Platz or the 142 Bus in direction S Ostbahnhof to the stop Robert-Koch-Platz. The buses run every 5-10 minutes.

 

Arriving by train

From the main train station (S+U Hauptbahnhof) take the exit to Europa-Platz. Then take the 147 Bus in direction U Märkisches Museum to the stop Campus Mitte. Alternatively, take the 245 Bus in direction Mitte, Robert-Koch-Platz or the 142 Bus in direction S Ostbahnhof to the stop

Arriving by car

Please note that the Langenbeck-Virchow-Haus does not have its own parking spaces. There are chargeable parking spaces and public parking garages in Luisenstrasse and Reinhardtstrasse in the immediate vicinity.

 

 

MUSEUM FÜR NATURKUNDE BERLIN (MfN)

 

This year's ECSA Conference 2022 will be hosted by the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin (MfN). The MfN is an integrated research museum within the Leibniz Association. It is one of the most important research institutions worldwide in the areas of biological and geological evolution and biodiversity. Over 700,000 visitors per year as well as steadily increasing participation in educational and other events show that the museum has become an innovative communication centre that helps shape the scientific and social dialogue about the future of our earth.

How to get there

By train

You can plan a sustainable trip to Berlin by train. You can easily reach Berlin from almost every major European city. Berlin has multiple railway connections and several long-distance train stations. Berlin's largest train station is the Berlin Hauptbahnhof located in the centre of Berlin.

By airplane

Berlin is served by Berlin Airport Berlin Brandenburg “Willy Brandt” (BER), which is located a bit outside of the city centre. From the BER you can easily use the public transport to reach the city centre. The Airport Express (FEX) and regional trains run four times an hour. You can also take the S-Bahn S9 or S45 to reach the city centre. In addition, the airport can be reached by taxi/cab and Bus (X7/X71).
